# Make: L1 · Needs a person

As of 6 Oct 2026, an AI agent can't use Make on its own: Cloudflare challenge on sign-up and login.

L1 · Needs a person describes Make today: our agent could not get in on its own. It stopped at signup, where a Cloudflare managed challenge on the registration page did not clear, even for a signed, docs-reading agent. OAuth client registration worked on its own, but the authorize step redirects to that same challenged login, and API and MCP calls both failed for want of a key. Make's docs are agent-friendly: llms.txt, markdown pages, a full REST API, CLI, SDK and hosted MCP server, all unreachable without a person completing signup first. Checkout, subscription cancellation and profile deletion all sit behind that same human login and were never reached.

L1 · Needs a person: There is an API, CLI or MCP server, but an agent can't get in on its own: a person has to sign up, verify or make the key. What it does once a person sets it up shows next to the level.

- Find: Docs for agents (llms.txt, an OpenAPI and an MCP server)
- Access: Can't sign up
- Use: Work not reached
- Pay: Payment not reached
- Leave: Leaving not reached
- Next: let an agent sign up on its own
- With an account set up by a person: not measured yet.

## Level history

- 2 Oct 2026: L1 · Needs a person
- 6 Oct 2026: L1 · Needs a person

## Part scores

- Agent-ready setup: llms.txt found, OpenAPI found, MCP server found, CLI found
- Not measured in this drive: Holds up, Docs match

## Who gets in

- Agents on a server: Stopped before the sign-up page.
- Signed agents: The sign-up page opens.
- Agents in a person's browser: Not measured yet.

Sign-up page checked 12 Oct 2026. Signed agents: the ones Cloudflare verifies.

## Checkpoints

- **Docs**: Headless: developers.make.com/llms.txt and help.make.com/llms.txt; .md pages; Accept: text/markdown negotiated
- **Sign up**: Needs a human: Cloudflare managed challenge (interstitial, cf-mitigated: challenge) on www.make.com/en/register, headless and in browser.
- **Verify**: Not reached: not reached: no account
- **Key**: Not reached: OAuth DCR works headless (201), but authorize redirects to the challenged /en/login; API/MCP tokens only in web UI; no device flow
- **First call**: Not reached: no credentials: API 401 IM015, CLI 'API key is required'
- **First action**: Not reached: no account
- **Pay**: Not reached: No 402/x402/MPP/UCP/auth.md; Cashier API only reads prices and VAT patterns; checkout is in the web app behind the challenged login, so a human is needed
- **Cancel**: Not reached: No account reached to cancel (sign-up blocked by Cloudflare challenge). Help center documents Org > Subscription > Cancel subscription in the web UI, but this is a doc reference only, not first-party proof of the flow; not exercised.
- **Delete**: Not reached: No account reached to delete (sign-up blocked by Cloudflare challenge). Help center documents Profile > Delete profile with password in the web UI; not exercised, and no evidence of an account being deleted or a subsequent login/key rejection.

## Does Make (make.com) have an MCP server, and can an agent connect to it?

Yes. Make has an official MCP server. The server is hosted and signs an agent in with OAuth.

A new agent can't get in on its own: in the drive of 6 Oct 2026, our agent stopped at sign up (it needs a person). Through the MCP server, 0 of our agent's 2 attempts worked.

## How does an AI agent get a Make (make.com) API key?

Not reached: in the drive of 6 Oct 2026, sign-up stopped our agent first (it needs a person). OAuth DCR works headless (201), but authorize redirects to the challenged /en/login; API/MCP tokens only in web UI; no device flow

## Paying the agent way

Payment not reached.

Ways to pay it offers an agent: Card checkout.
It has a free plan.

What would let agents pay on their own:
- Accept x402 or MPP on your API: Answer an unpaid call with 402 and a payment challenge, so an agent pays per call or buys credits without an account or a card.
- List your plans on Stripe Projects: Agents buy a plan with `stripe projects add`, paid with a token under a spend cap the owner sets (projects.dev).
From the drive of 6 Oct 2026.

## What an agent can do

- Read the full developer and help docs as markdown via llms.txt
- Register an OAuth client for the Make MCP server headless (DCR)
- Install the Make CLI and list its commands

## What it cannot do

- Create a Make account: Cloudflare managed challenge on www.make.com/en/register; no sign-up API
- Get an API or MCP token: tokens are made in the web UI; OAuth authorize redirects to the challenged login page
- Build, run or manage scenarios, connections, AI agents: no account or token

## Tips for the owner

1. Let verified bots through sign-up and login
2. Add a headless credential path
3. Publish a single OpenAPI file
4. Serve an MCP server card, support CIMD
5. Add API routes to leave

## Tips for agent builders

- Use developers.make.com/llms.txt and .md pages for docs
- Needs a human-made API token per zone (Profile > API access); then make-cli with MAKE_API_KEY+MAKE_ZONE or https://<zone>/mcp with Bearer
- www.make.com HTML pages are Cloudflare-challenged; developers/help hosts and /.well-known are not
