# Typefully: L1 · Needs a person

As of 6 Oct 2026, an AI agent can't use Typefully on its own: Cloudflare Turnstile on email sign-up.

Needs a person to sign up, our agent can't get in on its own: L1 · Needs a person. Email sign-up shows an interactive Cloudflare Turnstile check, and submit never resolved, so no request ever reached Typefully. Every other step, verification, a key, a first call, work done, paying and deleting the account, sits behind that signup, so none of it was reached. The product still has a ready surface for the step after signup: an OpenAPI REST API, an official MCP server with OAuth or key auth, and plain-text docs. A person still has to create the account and make the key before an agent can pick up from there.

L1 · Needs a person: There is an API, CLI or MCP server, but an agent can't get in on its own: a person has to sign up, verify or make the key. What it does once a person sets it up shows next to the level.

- Find: Docs for agents (llms.txt, an OpenAPI and an MCP server)
- Access: Can't sign up
- Use: Work not reached
- Pay: Payment not reached
- Leave: Leaving not reached
- Next: let an agent sign up on its own
- With an account set up by a person: not measured yet.

## Level history

- 2 Oct 2026: L1 · Needs a person
- 6 Oct 2026: L1 · Needs a person

## Part scores

- Agent-ready setup: llms.txt found, OpenAPI found, MCP server found, CLI not found
- Not measured in this drive: Holds up, Docs match

## Who gets in

- Agents on a server: Turned away when they send the sign-up form.
- Signed agents: The site opens. The check on the form still applies.
- Agents in a person's browser: Not measured yet.

Sign-up page checked 13 Oct 2026. Signed agents: the ones Cloudflare verifies.

## Checkpoints

- **Docs**: Headless: llms.txt, /docs/api.md (Markdown, also via Accept: text/markdown with Vary: Accept), OpenAPI 3.1.0 at api.typefully.com/v2/openapi.json, ai-agents.md, RFC 9727 api-catalog
- **Sign up**: Needs a human: Email sign-up shows an interactive Cloudflare Turnstile ('Verify you are human'); submit never resolved and no request reached Typefully. Other options are Google/X/LinkedIn OAuth.
- **Verify**: Not reached: No sign-up went through, so no verification code mail.
- **Key**: Not reached: API keys are made in web Settings; OAuth AS offers only authorization_code (browser consent) with CIMD, no device flow, no agent registration. No account to get them from.
- **First call**: Not reached: GET /v2/me -> 401 UNAUTHORIZED; MCP -> 401 with resource_metadata. No credentials.
- **First action**: Not reached: No credentials.
- **Pay**: Not reached: No 402, x402, MPP, UCP or other agent rail; x402./mpp./agents. subdomains fail TLS. Free plan exists (10 posts/month, API and MCP). Upgrade is Stripe Checkout behind login; not reached because sign-up was blocked, so is unconfirmed.
- **Cancel**: Not reached: No plan started. The API has no billing operations.
- **Delete**: Not reached: No account was created. The OpenAPI has no account-delete operation; the account-deletion route is unknown.

## Does Typefully have an MCP server, and can an agent connect to it?

Yes. Typefully has an official MCP server. The server signs an agent in with OAuth.

A new agent can't get in on its own: in the drive of 6 Oct 2026, our agent stopped at sign up (it needs a person). Through the MCP server, 0 of our agent's 1 attempt worked.

## How does an AI agent get a Typefully API key?

Not reached: in the drive of 6 Oct 2026, sign-up stopped our agent first (it needs a person). API keys are made in web Settings; OAuth AS offers only authorization_code (browser consent) with CIMD, no device flow, no agent registration. No account to get them from.

## Paying the agent way

Payment not reached.

Ways to pay it offers an agent: Stripe Checkout.
It has a free plan.

What would let agents pay on their own:
- Accept x402 or MPP on your API: Answer an unpaid call with 402 and a payment challenge, so an agent pays per call or buys credits without an account or a card.
- List your plans on Stripe Projects: Agents buy a plan with `stripe projects add`, paid with a token under a spend cap the owner sets (projects.dev).
From the drive of 6 Oct 2026.

## What an agent can do

- Read the full API reference as Markdown and the OpenAPI 3.1.0 spec without an account
- Discover the MCP server, its protected-resource metadata and the OAuth server metadata headless

## What it cannot do

- Sign up: Interactive Cloudflare Turnstile on the email sign-up form
- Get an API key or OAuth token: Keys are created in web settings and OAuth needs browser consent; no account
- Draft, schedule, queue or publish posts: No credentials
- Delete the account through a documented route: No account-delete operation in the API docs

## Tips for the owner

1. Let signed agents through the sign-up check
2. Add a headless credential path
3. Document account deletion and add an API route
4. Publish the MCP card at the draft location

## Tips for agent builders

- Have a human create the account and an API key; then use MCP https://mcp.typefully.com/mcp with Authorization: Bearer <key>.
- Read https://typefully.com/docs/api.md for the full reference in Markdown.
- publish_at 'now' is asynchronous: poll GET draft until publish_state is 'finished'; plan_at makes a dated draft that never auto-publishes.
- Media upload: PUT raw bytes to the presigned URL with no extra headers, or you get 403 SignatureDoesNotMatch.
