Anchor Browser vs Browserless for AI agents
As of 6 Oct 2026, both reach L4 · Runs on its own, and with each our agent got in (payment not reached).
- Find: Docs for agents: llms.txt, an OpenAPI and an MCP server.
- Access: Key by API.
- Use: 90% of the work.
- Pay: Payment not reached.
- Leave: Nothing to cancel: Can't delete what it made.
Got in; payment not reached. Next: pay without a person
Runs on its own, L4 · Runs on its own: our agent got in with no account, solving a short text puzzle for an API key straight from the docs. It opened a cloud browser session, drove it over CDP, and ran saved tasks, managed logins, profiles, files, webhooks and batches, all on the free tier. Buying more credits needs the dashboard: no payment API or x402 route, so our agent never reached checkout. It deleted sessions, identities, profiles and other resources over the API, though batch records stayed listed after deletion, and found no documented way to remove the project itself or revoke the key.

Runs on its own, L4 · Runs on its own: our agent signed up, got a token and did the core work without help. No checkpoint stopped it: sign-up took an email code with no bot check, and the token on the dashboard opened REST, BrowserQL, Puppeteer, the Agent Run API and the MCP server, each tried and working on the Free plan. A persisted session did not survive a reconnect, and profile creation failed with an unclear error. Paying needs a card at checkout our agent could not open, and cancelling or deleting the account both run through a web form with a required survey.

Anchor Browser or Browserless: what the difference means.
Anchor Browser needs no account and no browser: a text puzzle at Agent Access returns an API key, then sessions and tasks run headless. Its stop is delete: resources come off through the API, but the project and key have no delete route, only an email address. Browserless needs a browser for signup and its token, then runs REST and MCP, cancels and deletes in a browser; the old token then goes invalid. Both reach L4 · Runs on its own.
For an agent builder
Pick Anchor Browser for a key with no person opening a form: the puzzle-and-key exchange is the signup. A person still handles the account after, since upgrading needs a WorkOS login the key cannot use. Pick Browserless when the agent drives a browser: it reads its own OTP mail, copies its token off the dashboard, then cancels and deletes the account. Paying stayed out of reach there too: Continue to Checkout never opened a checkout page.
For the owners
Anchor Browser deletes every resource an agent creates over the API; the same route on its project and key would close its last stop. Browserless runs signup and account closure in a browser the agent controls; a documented, headless route for its token, as Agent Access does, would let an agent get in without a form.
