Stopped at sign up: needs a human. Next: let an agent sign up on its own

Stops at L1 · Needs a person: our agent cannot get into FreshBooks on its own. At signup, auth.freshbooks.com showed a visible Google reCAPTCHA image puzzle, so a person has to sign up, verify and make the key before any work starts. Without an account our agent still found clear HTML docs, SDKs, webhooks, and an official OAuth-protected MCP server, and it registered its own OAuth client through dynamic client registration. But every data route needs a logged-in user, so no call, invoice, or billing check went through. A trial needs no card, but reaching it still means getting past that same signup page first.

Stopped at sign up: blocked. Next: let an agent sign up on its own

Needs a person to sign up: L1 · Needs a person. Our agent stopped at signup, behind an invisible Google reCAPTCHA on the only account-creation route, a web form. The click produced no token, no puzzle and no error in our agent's browser: the form never submitted, and no challenge appeared for a person to solve either. With no account, no key followed, so no API call, MCP connection or CLI run reached the work itself. Pricing, checkout and cancelling stayed unseen, since the trial needs a person to sign up first. Moneybird ships an official MCP server, CLI and a full OpenAPI spec, but none of it opens without a person at the door.

A challenge on the form: It asks every visitor to prove they are human. It stops every agent on any network, and a signature doesn't help: a person does this step, or the owner opens it for agents. A check of our network and browser: It judged where our agent connects from and its browser, not a person. An agent that works on its own from a data center doesn't get through unless the owner lets signed agents in. How agents in a person's own browser fare isn't measured yet. Where we drive from.
