What stops agents in file storage.
In our drives, sign-up was the first checkpoint our agent did not pass on its own at 4 of 5 products in File storage. A bot check stopped our signed agent at 4 of 5. Backblaze B2 showed a reCAPTCHA v2 checkbox, Box an hCaptcha, Dropbox an Arkose Labs puzzle and Pinata a Cloudflare Turnstile. None of them offers sign-up by API, so no key and no first call followed.
Up to the sign-up form, an agent finds a lot here: 5 of 5 products have an MCP server. Backblaze B2, Box, Dropbox and Pinata stay at L1 · Needs a person.
1 of 5 products get in on their own: Cloudinary, at L4 · Runs on its own. Our agent ran the core work headless through REST, the CLI and remote MCP servers, and read back each task. It stopped at the Console. The password setup there has a reCAPTCHA, upgrading is a card form, and deleting the account takes a support request.
What Cloudinary does: an unauthenticated POST to its provisioning API returns a working cloud, an API key and secret, and a claim link a person can use later. A sign-up or key route like that, with no challenge in front of it, lets an agent start work without the web form.
