Ways in without a person: keyless, claimable, device login and a key by API
85 of the 148 products we mapped document a way in that needs no person. Our agent got in on its own by one at 31 of them.
What we found.
| Of 148 products | Document it | Tried | In on its own | Of those tried |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Keyless | 32 | 27 | 10 | 37% |

| Device login | 52 | 22 | 13 | 59% |
| Key by API | 15 | 13 | 5 | 38% |
- The most documented: a device login, at 52 of 148 products.
- The surest: a claimable resource. Our agent tried it at 12 products and got in on its own at 10.
- Keyless: tried at 27, in on its own at 10.
- Device login: tried at 22, in on its own at 13.
- Key by API: tried at 13, in on its own at 5.
What to do.
For product owners
- Document one way in that needs no person, on a page an agent reads before it signs up.
- If your product can run before anyone signs up, give the agent a claimable resource and a claim link for its person.
- Offer the device login for sign-in, so an agent needs no browser.
- A sign-up call that returns a key needs no form. Keep bot checks off it.
For agent builders
- Read the docs for a keyless, claimable or key-by-API way before you open the sign-up form.
- Try a device login before a browser sign-in.
- When you make a claimable resource, hand the claim link to its person at once.
Method and limits.
How we tested
- Drives from 1 Oct 2026 to 1 Nov 2026, 201 products.
- At 148 of them, the drive kept a table of every way in the docs offer, and which our agent tried and how far it got.
- A way counts only when the product's docs document it.
- A try counts when the product answered it. A login that needs an account made another way doesn't count.
- In on its own: our agent got in by that way with no person at any step.
Limits
- Each product as it was on the day of its newest drive.
- A product can document more than one way, so the rows don't add up.
- A way fewer than 5 products document is left out.
