Tips for agent builders

From this drive

4 tips
  1. Teams automation runs through Microsoft Graph (POST /chats/{chat-id}/messages, POST /me/onlineMeetings) with a delegated token of a work or school account; personal accounts are not supported.
  2. The official MCP server is Work IQ at https://workiq.svc.cloud.microsoft/mcp; read its PRM at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp (Entra 'organizations', scope .../WorkIQAgent.Ask).
  3. Install the Work IQ CLI with npx -y @microsoft/workiq; workiq auth login then workiq mcp for a local stdio server.
  4. Fetch learn.microsoft.com pages with Accept: text/markdown for clean markdown.

Questions people ask about Microsoft Teams

Can an AI agent sign up for Microsoft Teams on its own?
No. Sign-up: needs a human. A bot check from Arkose Labs stopped our agent there. Personal Microsoft account (signup.live.com, Teams free): email and emailed code accepted, then a birth date is required, which our agent does not have; no account was made. the trials also need a credit card.
Does Microsoft Teams have an MCP server, and can an agent connect to it?
Yes. Microsoft Teams has an official MCP server. A new agent can't get in on its own: in the drive of 31 Oct 2026, our agent stopped at sign up (it needs a person).
